From a very early age, Rachel was eager to learn everything she could about textiles and craftsmanship and now shares her passion with others by teaching lessons and working live at events small and large. Rachel holds a BFA in fiber arts and has years of experience working in studios, teaching, and creating one-of-a-kind garments, accessories, and fine art. She is dedicated to practicing traditional techniques and passing these skills on to others through education and and live presentation. She can be booked for live embroidery and sewing events, private lessons and commissioned painting work.
Rachel is available for hand embroidery or sewing work at live events, adding an extra special touch to any launch party or celebration. As a seasoned embroidery ace, she can stitch monograms and simple images onto all types of garments, in any prefered thread color. She is also happy to travel with her vintage singer sewing machine and can easily sew on site. She has previously worked with clients to sew patches, trims, flowers or ornaments onto garments, and can hand sew buttons and offer pant hemming on site. She is available for private shopping events, children's parties, bachelorette parties and showers, and is more than willing to travel to stores or businesses from coast to coast upon request. Past clients include: Goop, Tory Burch, Lou & Grey, Sleepy Jones. All event bookings can be coordinated by getting in touch here.
Rachel’s years of experience in textile craftsmanship have inspired her to pass on her knowledge of construction to others whenever possible. In addition to teaching the occasional class at the iconic Purl Soho store in NYC, she is also available for private or group lessons with students of all ages.
